Meet Remi: Candidate for Pet Mayor of West Monroe
Remi is a spirited British Labrador Retriever with a heart as big as her wagging tail. Born on March 24, 2020, in the picturesque Mississippi Delta, Remi made her way to West Monroe, Louisiana, on Mother’s Day, joining the Richardson family—Joseph, Wendi, Grayson, and Jentri Grace. From the moment she arrived, Remi brought boundless joy and unconditional love to everyone she met.
A quick learner and eager helper, Remi completed both basic obedience and advanced therapy dog training with River Mist Retriever Trainer Tommy Buford, graduating ahead of schedule. Her dedication and gentle nature made her a perfect fit for the Grace and Glory Therapy Team, where she provides animal-assisted therapy to patients receiving physical, occupational, and speech therapy in downtown West Monroe.
Remi’s days are filled with meaningful work: she comforts patients, helps them achieve their therapy goals, and even “lab tests” food for feeding therapy. She’s a pro at teaching safety awareness during community outings and assists with daily living activities—always ready to lend a paw in the therapy kitchen or help keep squirrels and deer in check at her home in West Monroe.
In 2023, Remi met her mate, Obadiah, at Tall Grass Kennels of Monticello, Arkansas, and became a loving mother to a beautiful litter of 6 puppies. Her pups now spread joy in families across Louisiana and Mississippi, continuing Remi’s legacy of love and service.
Remi is more than just a therapy dog—she’s a friend, a teacher, a helper, and a true community ambassador. As she runs for Pet Mayor of West Monroe, Remi promises to keep leading with love, guiding with paws, and empowering every step for all her neighbors—two-legged and four-legged alike!
